Known for their lettuce wraps and Asian fusion cuisine, P.F. Chang’s restaurant has some vegan-friendly options that do not disappoint! Their menu varies by location, but they are known to make everything from scratch at every restaurant (and you can certainly tell).
P.F. Chang’s has been one of my family’s favorite restaurants for a long time and I’ve tried just about every vegan item they have. I’ve seen their menu transform over the years and I love that they now offer more vegan-friendly options than ever before!
In this post, I will list the vegan-friendly options at P.F. Chang’s restaurant and provide my thoughts on some of the dishes on the menu.
Appetizers
Appetizers at P.F. Chang’s are usually very exciting and give you more of an experience. That’s why I was happy to see a couple of solid vegan options that are also very tasty!
Chang's Vegetarian Lettuce Wraps
- Savory
- Refreshing
- Appetizing
This appetizer is a vegan version of their signature “Chang’s Lettuce Wraps”. Based on a secret family recipe, this plant-based dish is made with minced vegetables, garlic, and scallions. Served with iceberg lettuce, crispy rice sticks, and a lime wedge, you can make your own vegetarian lettuce wraps just the way you like them!

Chili-Garlic Green Beans
- Flavorful
- Savory
- Spicy
Made with fiery red chili sauce, fresh garlic, and Sichuan preserves, these green beans have a lot of flavor! It definitely has a little kick to it, but it’s just the right amount of spice. This is one of the best vegan appetizers at P.F. Chang’s and I really enjoy the Chili-Garlic Green Beans.

Main Courses
When it comes to the main courses, there are a few good options on P.F. Chang’s menu. I love that they are trying to offer a variety of vegan flavors. From tofu to eggplant, to stir-fried vegetables, you’re sure to find a plant-based flavor that works for you.
Buddha's Feast (Stir-Fried or Steamed)
- Light
- Savory
- Healthy
This vegan main course is made with five-spice tofu, savory sauce, and a mix of vegetables including green beans, shiitake mushrooms, broccoli, and carrots. This is one of their more well-known vegan dishes and it is a great choice (especially if you are also trying to keep the calories low). I’ve tried this dish both steamed and stir-fried and I definitely prefer the stir-fried version. It just has a lot more flavor!

Side Dishes and Add-Ons
There are a few vegan side dishes on the menu that you can get with your main course. If you can’t find an appetizer or main course that you like, you can ways make your own meal by getting a few different sides and adding your favorite red chili paste or soy sauce.
White Rice, Steamed
Everyone’s go-to side. It goes well with just about everything.

Desserts
P.F. Chang’s doesn’t have any vegan desserts, but you can always get a side of fresh fruit to satisfy that sweet tooth!
Vegan-Looking (but not vegan)
Unfortunately, sometimes there are menu items that look vegan, but they are really not. Some meals are more obvious (like fried rice, which is known to be made with eggs), while others have animal products that are not explicitly called out in the description, like oyster sauce or butter. I reviewed the allergen menu on P.F. Chang’s website and found that a few of the restaurant’s vegan-looking options contain dairy, eggs, fish (or fish sauce), or shellfish.
Edamame
I thought the Edamame would be 100% vegan because it looks like they just add some kosher salt, but according to the allergens chart on P.F. Chang’s website, the edamame contains eggs and fish, so it is definitely not vegan.
Vegan Version
Fortunately, P.F. Chang’s also has an even better “home” version that is vegan, the Chili Garlic Edamame. You can order it on Amazon and it will be delivered via Weis Groceries.
Kung Pao Brussels Sprouts
I love crispy Brussels Sprouts. So when I saw this on the menu, I was so excited because I also love Kung Pao anything. This dish is made with wok-charred Brussels sprouts, peanuts, chili pods, and the very tasty Kung Pao sauce. However, unfortunately, the allergens chart says it also contains milk, eggs, fish, and shellfish. Needless to say, I was very sad when I found out that it was not vegan.
Crispy Green Beans
Unfortunately, anything with batter runs the risk of being non-vegan. According to P.F. Chang’s, this tempura-battered dish contains egg and shellfish. They also come with a non-vegan spicy dipping sauce.
Vegan Version
The good news is that they offer a “home” version of the Crispy Green Beans that is vegan. You can order it on Amazon and it will be delivered via Weis Groceries.
Shishito Peppers
At first, I thought this was a safe side to order. These Japanese peppers are cooked in a savory Mongolian sauce, however, the dish also contains milk, egg, and shellfish.
Vegetable Spring Rolls
These crispy spring rolls are made with julienned veggies and served with a sweet chili dipping sauce. However, they also contain milk, egg, and shellfish.
Signature Lo Mein (Vegetable protein option)
The Vegetable Lo Mein is made with wok-tossed noodles, mushrooms, Asian vegetables, and savory soy sauce. Unfortunately, it also contains milk, eggs, and shellfish.
Final Thoughts

Since I don’t usually have too many plant-based options when I dine out at restaurants, it was great to actually see so many vegan items on their menu!
My favorite dish overall is definitely the Chili-Garlic Green Beans appetizer. I could easily eat that as my main meal with a small side of rice. The spice is just right and the green beans have a lot of flavor!
For the main course, I really enjoyed Buddha’s Feast. It was light and the vegetables in the savory sauce were very tasty! I am not always a big fan of tofu, but I thought the five-spice tofu in the dish was pretty good (and I like that it was not deep-fried). Buddha’s Feast is also the main course with the least number of calories!
It would have been nice to have at least one dessert, but a side of fruit is usually enough for me, so this doesn’t bother me so much.
It’s hard to find restaurants that offer a decent vegan meal. Half the time, when I ask a server about vegan options, they just direct me to the Salads section of the menu. That’s why when one of our favorite restaurants started offering some good plant-based options, I was very excited to try them.
